Buick and GMC have paired up with Amazon to give you even more reasons to love your car, truck, or SUV. Amazon’s Alexa enabled devices are designed to make your life easier and help you stay connected. Amazon Alexa on its own can answer a range of questions from what the weather will be this week to nutrition questions and can set reminders and alarms. Amazon Alexa can do almost everything and now it can control your Buick or GMC.
Getting Started
In order to pair Alexa with your Buick or GMC, you must make sure you have everything. First make sure your Buick or GMC is a 2011 model or newer. To be eligible, you must be an Amazon Prime member, have an active service plan, and own an Alexa enabled device. The active service plan in your vehicle not only enables Alexa, but it allows for 4G LTE WiFi hotspot and more. Finally, you need to enable the myBuick or myGMC skill for Alexa. Once that is done, just link it to your Owner Center account and that’s it! Your vehicle can now respond to your commands.
Control Vehicle Functions
You can active Alexa controls by saying “Alexa, ask Buick to…” or “Alex, ask GMC…” and finish with what command you want your vehicle to do. Make sure you are standing near your Alexa enabled device such as the Echo or Echo Dot to allow Alexa can process your command. Alexa is able to start, stop, lock, unlock your vehicle, and can even let you know what vehicles are in your garage.
