For the 2020 Sierra 1500, the in-vehicle Trailering App has updated features and enhanced mobile integration. The update allows for owners to create and edit trailer profiles through the myGMC app and load them into their truck to save time. In addition to this update, owners can share their trailer profile for easy transfer of vehicle specs. The in-vehicle Trailering App includes helpful maintenance reminders and trailer mileage. The Control Control System allows you to control your trailer before you reach your destination. You have to ability to turn on the trailer’s air conditioning or water heater, check water and holding tank levels, or monitor fuel levels on trailers equipped with generators. Technology Along with class-leading towing capabilities, the 2020 Sierra 1500 has new available safety features. The available Adaptive Cruise Control Camera helps maintain a safe distance between the driver and vehicles ahead by automatically adjusting speed while using cruise control. The 2020 Sierra 1500’s 8-inch GMC Infotainment system is now be able to support the SiriusXM All Access Package, which would be capable of supporting SiriusXM with 360L2 when equipped; this package includes more channels and choices than ever before. Performance The 2019 Sierra 1500s had multiple engine options; although, it wasn’t until later in the year that they started offering a diesel engine. The all-new 2020 Sierra 1500 models will offer a year-round 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The CarbonPro Editions package now includes the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine, which was previously only available with the 6.2L V8 engine. The 3.0L Duramax inline-six turbo-diesel engine is now paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission; this combination will bring class-leading, SAE-certified 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission is also now paired with the 5.3L V-8 with Dynamic Fuel Management. This pairing will come standard on the Sierra Denali, Sierra AT4, and is available on all four-wheel drive Sierras with the SLE trim level and above. Appearance The 2020 Sierra AT4 CarbonPro Edition received an updated appearance, which now features a new black chrome grille surround, black exhaust tips and modified hard badges. The AT4 CarbonPro package will be available in Onyx Black, Summit White, Satin Steel Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic. Along with new exterior modifications, GMC made configuration changes for 2020. The 2019 Sierra Elevation model was originally only configured for Double Cab with a standard box, but is now offered in Crew Cab with either a short or standard box.
