What are My End-of-Lease options?
There are three main things you can do with your vehicle after your lease ends.
Start a New Lease: The first thing is that you simply start looking for the vehicle that you want to lease next. At our dealership, there are a lot of different models that you can choose from, depending on your specific needs.
Buy Off Your Current Leased Vehicle: If you love your current vehicle and are not ready to part ways with it, you are in luck! Another end of lease option is to pay off the remaining value of the car and take ownership. This could be good for someone who really does love their current car, and doesn’t want to deal with getting a completely new one that they might not be as comfortable with.
Simply turn in your vehicle: The final option is to return the vehicle, and not lease from another vehicle on our lot. This is in lieu of switching for a new lease, or buying the vehicle.
Do I have to get my vehicle inspected before I return it?
One thing that you absolutely have to do before you return your vehicle is, within 120 days of the end of the lease, you need a pre-return inspection. The point of this is to figure out the condition of the vehicle that you are returning so there is a better idea of the wear and tear that has been incurred. This helps to figure out how much you might owe at the end of the lease, on top of other costs. The inspection that we’re talking about can happen at the dealership, your office, or even your home. That makes it simple and easy, so you shouldn’t ignore it or put it off!
What kinds of things is the inspection looking for?
There are many different things that the inspection will be checking for when it comes to what you might have to pay extra for. A few exterior examples include hail damage/punctures, cracked glass, any dents or scratches. Those scratches usually have to be more than 4-inches to really be considered extreme damage. As for the interior, some examples include large upholstery holes, tears, and even permanent stains that are unable to be removed.
