Pickup trucks are awesome. They’re versatile, practical, and slick. With many different brands putting their own spins on pickup trucks, it can be difficult to choose which is right for you. Not only do you have to consider brands, but you have to consider truck size, cab size, and trim as well. Let us walk you through some of the options for the 2020 GMC Canyon to help you in your research.
The 2020 GMC Canyon is a midsize truck. It comes in two cab configurations: extended and crew. Similarly, there are both short and long bed versions of the GMC Canyon. Most trims are available on both cab types, with one exception. The trims are, from lowest to highest: base, SL, SLE, All Terrain, and Denali. Denali is only available on the crew cab. Models are available in either RWD or 4WD configurations. Engine options include a 3.6L gas-powered V6 with an 8-speed automatic and the 2.8L Duramax turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic. Alongside the options listed here are a myriad of additional packages.
The 3.6L V6 puts out a respectable 308 horsepower and 275 ft-lbs of torque. Acceleration is quick, with V6 Colorado going from 0 to 60 in just 6.9 seconds. This performance translates off-road as well, particularly with the 4x4 drivetrain. But high performance doesn’t have to mean discomfort. Simple, intuitive controls and a wide variety of seating adjustments mean that you can relax on long drives. The windshield and side windows are tall and wide, giving the driver great visibility. Technology integration is excellent as well, with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There are two USB ports up front and two available in the back on upper trims.
