The COVID-19 crisis has impacted the lives of millions around the world. In times like these, nonprofit organizations and the people they help suffer tremendously. This is why we decided that this month, we would do all that we could to help out St. Jude House in Crown Point, Indiana.
St. Jude House is a safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their dependent children. St. Jude House has helped and improved our community for the last 25 years. According to the CDC Preventing Intimate Partner Violence article:
“About 1 in 4 women and nearly 1 in 10 men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime and reported some form of IPV-related impact.”
How We Helped
Collected Much Needed Items
Since the announcement of the COVID-19, supplies have been flying off the shelves and new buying limits have been put in place. This has made it especially difficult for St. Jude House’s employees and volunteers to gather much-needed items for the victims and their children at the shelter. We started an Urgent Needs List to collect items such as:
• Toilet Paper
• Hand Sanitizer
• Disinfectant
• Diapers: Sizes 4-6
• Pull-Ups
• Wipes
• Trash Bags
• Kid’s Cereal
• Mac & Cheese
• Chips & Snacks
With the help of our fellow employees, families, and friends we were able to collect multiples of every item on this list and MORE!
Delivered Comfort Food
The COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders heightened the anxiety of the victims and children at St. Jude House. Comfort food was much needed, so we delivered Carriage Court Pizza, wings and fries delivered right to the shelter door.
Donation
We also made a monetary donation to St. Jude House, to help continue to buy necessities as they become restocked.

If you have some of the items on the Urgent Needs List to spare, you can drop them off at the dealership OR send an email to mckenzie@circleautomotive.com and we will arrange a porch pickup and we will deliver the supplies for you!
