2020 GMC Terrain Cargo Space, Seating Capacity, Towing Capacity
It’s in the name: Sport Utility Vehicle. SUVs are supposed to practical and be able to perform in unideal conditions. Yet some of the most popular options perform only marginally better than sedans. The 2020 GMC Terrain is not one of those underperforming SUVs. If you want the SUV part of crossover SUV, then the Terrain might be for you.
The Terrain fits five comfortably. When each seat is full, the Terrain has around 29.5 cubic feet of storage. But, with the rear seats down, it has around 63 cubic feet of cargo room. What makes the Terrain special, though, is its fold flat passenger seat, which expands the capacity to an unexpected 81 cubic feet. The fold flat seat is perfect for fitting unwieldy cargo, like home improvement materials, camping gear, or oddly-shaped, well, anything. From floor lamps to surfboards, you can fit it in the Terrain.
Superior Towing Capacity
1500 lbs. That’s the towing capacity of two of the most popular crossover SUVs, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 and the 2020 Honda CR-V. The 2020 GMC Terrain more than doubles that number. It has a maximum towing capacity of 3500 lbs. Where the RAV4 or CR-V could only pull a small trailer or a couple snowmobiles, the Terrain can pull a full cargo trailer or even a decent sized boat.
